Is the Iwata Silver Jet compressor good for face painting?
I will be airbrushing at a haunted house this halloween season, and I need to know if the compressor will do the job? The airbrush i’ll be using is the Iwata Eclipse HP-BCS.
It is a common misconception that you have to use a special compressor when working with an airbrush … the truth is, any old compressor will do as long as it has a pressure regulator (which most do). I use an Iwata cm-sb with a home depot compressor and it works great.
One of the downfalls of the silver jet is that it is tankless … so it runs constantly (albeit quietly) and that means if you are going to be working for a long time there is a possibility of it overheating. I had a Paasche tankless compressor that got so hot I couldn’t pick it up it was so HOT!
